Join us for Slice & Dice, a one-day tabletop role-playing game (RPG) fundraiser supporting MyTHS (Maryland Training in Historical Swordsmanship)! This special event brings together gamers, swordfighters, and storytellers for a day of adventure — all to help our HEMA community grow stronger.
MyTHS is a passionate community dedicated to exploring and practicing Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA). We focus on traditional fencing techniques — especially the longsword, rapier and other historical weapons — taught in a safe, welcoming environment. Our club is more than just a place to train; it’s a home for anyone interested in history, exercise, and the art of swordsmanship.

Keep membership costs affordable for beginners and returning students.
Purchase new training equipment to improve instruction and safety.

How It Works
Each player buys an event ticket that guarantees a seat at one of several exciting tabletop RPGs. For a small upgrade fee, players can reserve a specific Game Master (GM) or table ahead of time — so you can choose the story that calls to you!
Games will run for up to five hours (1:30 PM – 6:30 PM), packed with action, imagination, and shared storytelling.
In addition to the RPG sessions, Slice & Dice will feature:

🍪 Snack sales to keep your adventuring energy high.
🧸 Boffer Bear Pit, where participants can test their reflexes in lighthearted foam-weapon duels — a fun, safe way to experience swordplay!

Calling All Game Masters!
We’re looking for enthusiastic Game Masters and Dungeon Masters to help bring Slice & Dice 2026 to life! Whether you’ve been running games for years or are looking to lead your first one-shot, we’d love for you to join us. GMs will host single-session tabletop RPGs for groups of adventurers during this one-day fundraiser, helping us create an unforgettable day of storytelling, laughter, and community.
Your participation directly supports MyTHS (Maryland Training in Historical Swordsmanship) by raising funds for new equipment, tournaments, and programs. What Is a Tabletop Role-Playing Game?
A tabletop role-playing game (RPG) is a shared storytelling experience where players take on the roles of characters in a fictional world. Together, players and the Game Master (GM) build a narrative filled with adventure, mystery, and challenge — all guided by imagination, creativity, and a few rolls of the dice.
Unlike board games, there’s no set board or finish line. The GM describes the world, introduces challenges, and plays the part of everyone the players meet — from allies to adversaries. The players, in turn, decide what their characters do: exploring ruins, solving puzzles, negotiating peace, or fighting monsters. Dice rolls (or other random mechanics) are used to determine success or failure, adding surprise and excitement to the story.
Tabletop RPGs are as much about collaboration as they are about strategy. There are no winners or losers — the goal is to tell a great story together and enjoy the journey. Whether it’s classic fantasy like Dungeons & Dragons, grim horror like Vampire: The Masquerade, or modern noir like City of Mist, every game offers a new world to explore and a chance to become someone extraordinary for a few hours.
