Queens Gambit 2025

This past weekend, MyTHS instructors Matthew and Gabe traveled to compete and serve at Queen’s Gambit 2025.

Gabe fought all weekend long, taking on dagger, longsword, and sidesword with companion weapon in the Rose Tier. He fenced with precision and grit, earning 4th place in dagger, 15th in longsword, and an impressive 2nd place finish with rapier and dagger! His dedication and versatility across multiple weapons made us proud and represented MyTHS on the tournament floor in the best way.

Matthew took on a different role this time, serving as a judge and director across all Rose and Crown Tier events—including dagger, longsword, and sidesword with companion weapons. He spent the weekend helping ensure smooth, fair matches and wants to shout out every fencer for bringing their best. It was a long hot weekend full of excellent fencing, sportsmanship, and respect.

We were also thrilled to see our friends from MKDF in the ring with us! Jess competed in Rose Tier longsword and fenced beautifully, while Jeff was in Crown Tier longsword, sidesword, and companion weapon events. While neither placed, both delivered strong performances and helped make the event even more enjoyable with their presence.

Queen’s Gambit was a weekend full of hard-fought matches, supportive teammates, and new connections. We had a blast and can’t wait to return next year for more fencing, friendship, and growth.
